On Friday, May 16^th, our school will be holding a Walk-A-Thon to raise funds for our audio/visual equipment upgrade. This event is held every two years and it is our hope that students gather as many sponsors as possible to make our event a success!

Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2 students will walk 5 km, and Grade 3-7 students will be walking 10 km. Each class will walk together with their teacher and an extra staff member to ensure a safe walk. Our expectation is that every child participates in this school-wide event, whether or not they have any sponsors. If for any reason you do not want your child to participate in the walk, please let your child’s teacher know by Wednesday, May 14^th.

Our school goal is to raise $15,000.00. The School District will provide tax receipts for sponsorship amounts of $20.00 or more. Parents, guardians, and other sponsors are encouraged to make their donations online. Please visit https://cascade.burnabyschools.ca/school-info/donate-to-cascade-heights/ or scan the QR code. Online donations will receive an immediate tax receipt.

For cheque and cash donations, we will need to have your full name and address CLEARLY printed on the sponsorship form for tax receipts to be issued. The District can only issue tax receipts with the information that is provided, so it’s important that the information is accurate for tax purposes and clearly legible.

You will need your student’s PEN number, this can be found on their Learning Update (report card) under their name. The PEN is a nine-digit number assigned to students when they enter the BC school system. Student’s pupil/student numbers will not work.

Learning Updates (report cards) are now available for viewing, downloading, and/or printing on the Family Portal. There have been reports of technical issues when viewing Learning Updates on mobile devices, we encourage families to view and download their student’s reports on computers.

Learning Updates will be available until Thursday, April 3rd at 3:00 pm. The system will update, and Term 2 Learning Updates will be available again on Thursday, April 10th by 3:00 pm until September 30th, 2025.

If you have forgotten your password, or if you have mistyped your password 5 times and your account is locked, the system can help you reset your password.

1. Click the blue “I forgot my password” link on the log-on screen.
2. Enter your Login ID and email address
3. Enter the answer to your security question. If you answer it correctly, a new temporary password will be sent to your email account.
4. Retrieve the temporary password from your email account and use it to log on to the Family Portal.
5. You will then be asked to create a new password.

Please note that the password requirements for MyEd are very specific. They are as follows:

• Minimum length is 8
• At least one number
• At least one capital and lowercase letter
• At least one symbol that isn’t a letter or number
• Can’t contain ‘password’, login name, first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, personal id, or only sequential letters or numbers
